Winovich will get to NFL on edge rush alone

Over the past two years, Chase Winovich has really turned himself into a player to watch when it comes to the NFL. Guys that can get to the quarterback are gold in the NFL and if there is one thing the senior has proven he can do, it’s making plays in the backfield.

Over the last two seasons, Winovich has 27.5 tackles for loss to go along with 13.5 sacks. In 2017, he also contributed with 73 tackles, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He also showed he is more than just an edge rusher.

But what more could he do in the NFL? Is he stout enough to be an outside linebacker in the 3-4? Possibly. He could at least play that role some on run downs and when it comes to pass-rush situations, he would get the green light.

Certainly, Winovich looks like he is well on his way to being a second or third round pick, yet with all the talent around him, he still might be the fifth UM player picked.
