Michigan basketball is just two days away from playing in its eighth Final Four, here are three predictions for the Wolverines in San Antonio.

When the Michigan basketball team takes the floor against Loyola Chicago Saturday in the Final Four, it will be the culmination of one journey, as well as the start of another.

It took five years and six seasons for the Wolverines to get back to this stage. The 2013 team made it but fell short of the ultimate goal. The 2014 and 2017 Michigan basketball teams also were good enough, but couldn’t survive far enough.

Now Michigan is back in the national spotlight. Head coach John Beilein and the Wolverines have proven they are among the top programs, not only in the Big Ten but in the nation. UM has raised a bunch of banners under Beilein since 2012 and if the Wolverines can get two more wins, they can raise another.

Yet, how will Michigan deal will Loyola, the team just about everyone is cheering for right now? Can Michigan overcome cinderella and take down one of two college basketball powerhouses.

Villanova is going for its second national title in three years, while Kansas, a blue blood, is looking for its first national title in a decade. Championships are hard to win in college basketball, there is no question about and all four teams have their eye on the prize.

Opportunities like this are rare and hopefully, Michigan basketball will take advantage of it. With that in mind, here are three predictions for the Final Four.
