Michigan Football Recruiting: 3 predictions for signing day 2018
National signing day is almost upon us and as Michigan football gets ready for it, here are three predictions for the Wolverines.
National signing day is always an exciting time and like many other schools, Michigan football and its fans are waiting desperately to hear the announcement of some critical players.
Of course, things probably won’t be as hectic Wednesday as things normally are on signing day, because of the early-signing period. However there are still some big names out there and Michigan football is in a battle to see some of them join the program.
The Wolverines have the majority of their class signed, sealed and delivered. Yet, they will be looking to add a few important names to the list tomorrow. To start, Michigan football will look to make it official with guys like Michael Barrett, Ronnie Bell and Vincent Gray, 3-star recruits that have committed recently.
Signing 3-star recruits doesn’t sound sexy, but there is reason to be excited. Barrett, an athlete, is going to play running back at UM and his potential is through the roof. Gray is another guy that generated a ton of interest late. Sometimes, guys are overlooked, but it doesn’t mean they can’t make an impact.
After those three guys, Michigan will turn its attention to the big names. Otis Reese is the biggest name left on the Wolverines list and his decision will be key. If UM losses him to Georgia, it will be a killer for this class. It already ranks 17th and if Reese bolts to Georgia, it will fall even farther.
Rankings and ratings don’t mean everything, but perception is reality in college football. That’s what makes signing day so important. With that in mind, here are three predictions for the Wolverines on signing day.
