Michigan Football vs Minnesota: 3 bold predictions for the Wolverines
Michigan football will host Minnesota Saturday with the Little Brown Jug on the line, here are three bold predictions for the Wolverines.
For the first time since 2015, Michigan football will take on Minnesota and in the process, it will defend the Little Brown Jug.
The last meeting between Michigan and Minnesota came back in 2015, when the Wolverines won the game by three thanks to a goal-line stand. UM comes in 6-2; Minnesota is 4-4. Both teams have bowl aspirations. The Wolverines are already eligible, but looking to improve position, while the Golden Gophers are just trying to win six games.
The fact that the two teams will play at 6:30 CST in the Big House has to be scary for Michigan football fans. UM is 0-2 in night games this year, so hopefully it can exercise some demons.
Brandon Peters has been called the likely the starter at quarterback by Jim Harbaugh, but it would be utterly shocking to see anyone else. Right now, it’s Peters job to lose and as long as he keeps playing with the same poise and confidence he had against Rutgers, he will keep it.
This game is obviously important because of the trophy, but it also has an important feel to it. If Michigan wins, it’s 7-2 and has momentum. A loss drops the Wolverines to 6-3 and signals that the season really is in a downward spiral.
Even though Michigan football has zero playoff chances, every game still matters. A loss would cause an all-out panic, but her’s why I don’t expect that to happen, plus some predictions, which are sure to be wrong.
