Michigan Football vs Air Force: 3 keys to a Wolverines win
Keep working on the Offensive Execution
Lord knows we had several things to work on this week. Last Saturday it was easy to blame the starting QB for all of our frustrations. But I think Jim Harbaugh and the coaching staff did a good job of claiming responsibility for much of what went on. They also did a good job of making us realize how much of that execution error is on a young team and its natural tendency to be behind the power curve in these early games.
The right side of the line had its problems last week, but maybe not as many as the week before. Chris Evans and Karan Higdon have not looked as ready to go as many of us had hoped. There are still kinks to work out with the young WR’s. And Wilton Speight is still throwing high on occasion. He talked post-game about getting his feet right after scrambling and before throwing. He said Pep Hamilton has been working with him on this for a while now. Hopefully he gets things cleaned up before the B1G schedule hits.
Thank God that we have Grant Perry and Ty Isaac as steady hands to show the way for the young guys, that is very important right now, I think.
