Michigan football is going to take on Florida Saturday at Jerry’s World, here are the four keys to a Wolverines victory.

Florida has had their share of bad luck this off-season and then some. It could be worse, what’s going on in East Lansing is pretty hard to beat. But they have been hit hard, the Gators have. Several players have been suspended, at least for the game against Michigan football.

A big gift – possibly. But sometimes these things have a way of motivating teams. Sometimes, you’re down and getting the life squeezed out of you and that’s when the worm on the hook turns – so to speak. Those of you old enough to remember the ’68 Tigers and what they did in the World Series against a practically Hall of Fame Cardinal team know what I’m talking about. The Tigers were down and almost out. They were down 3-1 in the best of 7 and just hanging on by a thread. But something happened – kinda like when the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes (or whatever) and they found something deep inside to overcome the talent and situation to come back and win that series.

Well, my point is – Florida could do the same thing – if Michigan football gives them a chance. If they figure they have them out of contention because of the suspensions. Or, if they let them hang close til the end of the game. It could happen. Stranger things have.

So, IMO, they need to go Steve Irwin on these Gators – wrap up their mouths quickly, then subdue the rest of them and put them away early and make them quit like they did in the Citrus Bowl a year and a half ago.

But how do they accomplish that?
