Michigan football starts fall camp in just a couple of months, so we thought it would be a good time to break down the depth chart with some predictions. We start off with the quarterbacks.

Now that softball and baseball have made their NCAA tournament runs, it’s time for complete focus on Michigan football.

After all, the Wolverines will be starting fall camp in a couple of months, which gives us plenty of time to speculate on the upcoming season.

One of the more interesting things about this Michigan football team is that there should be an unreal amount of competition for playing time this fall.

The Wolverines lost good players across the board to the NFL. Numerous guys on both sides of the ball were selected or signed as rookie free agents. When it was all said and done, Michigan sent a total of 18 to the NFL.

That means head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff have some work to do. While some positions are mostly settled, many are not.

One that might appear settled is quarterback.

Wilton Speight, last year’s starter is back for his junior season and has a solid grip on the job. Yet, redshirt freshman Brandon Peters had a standout spring and was very efficient in the spring game.

Also John O’Korn, who was the backup last season to Speight, is also in the mix. Certainly, Speight is the favorite, but if he is going to keep his starting job, he will have to earn it.
