Michigan basketball got a big victory over Nebraska to close out the regular season Sunday and here are the three most important takeaways.

Most analysts considered Michigan basketball in the NCAA tournament before the Wolverines took on Nebraska Sunday.

Yet, after the Michigan humbled the Huskers by a score of 93-57, their status as an NCAA tournament team was further solidified.

Basically from start to finish, the Wolverines dominated. They knocked down eight 3-pointers in the first half and hit 14 total. Mo Wagner and Zak Irvin both made three from deep. In all seven different players connected on 3-point shots, with five making at least two.

For the game, Michigan shot 63 percent. The Wolverines also held Nebraska to 42 percent.

But what does it all mean? In truth, a win over Nebraska, one of the worst teams in the Big Ten, isn’t much to write home about.

However, it was still a good win for the Wolverines simply because they won so easily. Had UM struggled and barely won, it would have had a much different feel to it.

The bottom line is that this Michigan squad is playing good ball right now. They have won six of eight and their only losses were at Minnesota and Northwestern, two tournament teams in two games that could have gone either way.

Michigan basketball is rolling, there is no question about it, but here are the three most important takeaways from the win over Nebraska.
