Michigan football starts its November run at home against Maryland. Here are three predictions for the Wolverines game vs the Terrapins Saturday.

So far this season, the Michigan football team has conquered all challengers. The next one up is the Maryland Terrapins, a team that has been better than expected.

The Terps still aren’t anything to write home about. But they are 5-3 overall and 2-3 in Big Ten Play. Maryland has a strong chance to playing in a bowl game and beat Michigan State two weeks ago.

Of course, Maryland just gave up more than 400 rushing yards in a loss to Indiana, so you have to ask, how good can they really be?

However, they are led by former Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, a defensive guru. You can expect him to make some adjustments. He may also have some ideas of how to stop the Wolverines.

Durkin seemed like a good hire for Maryland and it looked especially good after a 50-7 win over Purdue to open conference play.

Since then, the Terps haven’t been quite as impressive, losing to Penn State by 24, Minnesota by 21 and last week to the Hoosiers by six.

Michigan football, on the other hand, has cruised to an 8-0 record. Wisconsin and to a lesser extent, Colorado and Michgan State offered challenges, but beyond that, it’s been smooth sailing.

Yet, after some sloppy play against the Spartans, you can expect a focused effort from Michigan football this week. Don’t expect the Wolverines to take Maryland lightly at all.

Here are three predictions for the game.
