Jeremy Pruitt has spent that last two seasons serving as Georgia’s defensive coordinator, but it’s been reported by CollegeSpun that new Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart will not retain Pruitt.
Though many are expecting him to land at Alabama, it’s being reported that Pruitt has interest in the vacancy at Michigan.
In 2014 under Pruitt Georgia ranked 18th nationally in total defense (334 yards per game), 2nd in pass defense (158.4 yards per game) and 78th in rush defense (175.6 yards per game).
This season Georgia ranked 8th in total defense (298 yards per game), 1st in pass defense (146.1 yards per game) and 48th in rush defense (151.9 yards per game).
Pruitt also led Florida State in 2013 to its national title with a stellar defense that ranked in the top three in those major categories.

If Pruitt legitimately has interest in the vacancy at Michigan, it’d be surprising if Harbaugh didn’t strongly go after him. Why Smart isn’t retaining him is beyond me, but Pruitt would be a welcomed addition in Ann Arbor.
