“A Stunner”

This was so terrible, there have been reports (who knows if there’s anything to them) about Michigan players being high during the game, coaches neglecting to game-plan, etc. It was that bad.

Las Vegas betting books didn’t even offer a line for the game. An Associated Press article said the Mountaineers were “almost certain to lose badly” and “aren’t expected to be anything more than sacrificial lambs.”

At one point Appalachian State was up 31-20. Armanti Edwards wrecked the Wolverines with 289 total yards and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing). He did throw two interceptions, but the pros outweighed the cons.

Michigan quarterback Chad Henne didn’t have a terrible game (19 for 37, 233 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception), but he had plenty of opportunities to move the offense in a better direction.

Following a Mountaineers field goal with 21 seconds to play, Henne connected with Mario Marringham on a 46-yard pass to the Appalachian State 20-yard line. Jason Gingell came in to kick a game-winning field goal, but it was blocked by Corey Lynch.

Game.

Relive it, if you dare.
