Michigan Football: Tidbits from MaizeMan — Some Pre-Spring Practice Predictions — Offense
1) Will Bellomy step up and become the #2 Quarterback?
This is the one area Michigan hopes they do not have to really utilize next year. If there is any one player Michigan cannot afford to lose, it is Gardner with both our OT’s a close 2nd. To this day nobody really knows what happened to Bellomy last year although most of us have our educated hunches, but Bellomy (even though I think he is an adequate QB) will be just a maintain the offense type of QB and not close to a Game-changing type of QB.

Having said that I think coaches would be very happy to be able to red-shirt Morris next year.
So, my prediction is, at least going into start of 2013 that Bellomy does enough in spring and fall practices to be the #2 QB.
4) WR — Who becomes the starter along with gallon
Well, I am now going to be shocked if that is not Darboh. I just think he fits our offense perfectly and he is the one guy who would be willing and able to go over the middle. Not a game-breaking type—but he can catch the ball—-and he can block–. I could be wrong–but I think our WR situation is going to be better than people think—barring any injury.

1) Gardner
2) Drake Johnson
3) Houma – (can he step up at FB)–word is he is going to get some snaps running the ball also
4) Bars – sleeper to make a move at both OC and OG
5) Chesson – Can he become our “home run” threat
6) Bryant – will he be able to practice—if he does—watch out for Bryant
7) Norfleet – will he move mostly to slot—(that is the early word)
Team wise:
1) How effective will our running game become?
2) Will we see the TE being used?
3) Can we develop a mid-long range passing game?
Note:
Although early word is Michigan will run an offense somewhat similar to a year ago at least during spring Michigan will push Gardner to stay in the pocket and pass the ball when he scrambles. This is Gardner’s main weakness.
