Coach Jeff Kaufman is one of the best in the business. He’s had the who’s who of college hoops walk through his door and now, the Michigan Basketball staff is knocking.

If you haven’t heard of Coronado High School in Nevada, you must not pay close attention to college recruiting. The head coach, Jeff Kaufman, has a bevy of talent on his roster, and he’s bringing in reinforcements to decimate his rival, the great Bishop Gorman. And the Michigan basketball staff has noticed.

Specifically, Kaufman’s crew consists of two Wolverine targets: the newly acquired point guard, four-star Frankie Collins, and the ultra-gifted five-star Jaden Hardy. Collins hasn’t received an offer yet, but should things not go in Michigan’s favor this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if one were extended. Jaden Hardy, on the other hand, has interest and offers from any coach with a pulse and an eye for talent. Both are instant impact players, and both have expressed an interest in the Wolverines, although just about everyone has a prediction for Hardy to Kentucky.

Still, UM has a chance with either, especially Collins. Frankie trimmed his list of schools to eight, and Michigan remains in contention, and the Wolverines are in dire need of a ball handler.

While I could blabber on about how good the two are on the court, it’s always great to get a fresh perspective, so I reached out to Coronado. Here’s what coach K had to say.
