Michigan football made the cut for Domani Jackson’s top 10, here’s more on that and the latest buzz about the 2022 recruiting class.

There’s no question that Michigan football is among the teams with a legitimate chance at landing elite 2022 cornerback Domani Jackson and Saturday, one of the top players in the 2022 class put the Wolverines among his top 10.

Of course, this shouldn’t have been a surprise. It would have been news if Michigan football didn’t make it, because Jackson has family ties to Michigan and the Wolverines are already one of the contenders in his recruitment.

Jackson realeased the video on Twitter, with each school that made the cut erupting in fireworks, which was pretty cool. The block M for Michigan is also one of the first you see. Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arizona State and USC were the others

At 6-foot-1, Jackson is the No. 2 corner in the 2022 class according to the 247 sports rankings and his only crystal ball projection right now has him heading to USC. But as Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider said recently, the Wolverines have a good shot, in part because of Darion Green-Warren, a corner Michigan signed in 2020.

Green-Warren is a Mater Dei product and that’s where Jackson plays, along with 2021 Michigan commit Christian Dixon. Jackson has also consistently said Michigan is his dream program

We’ll see how it plays out, because the pursuit for the No. 12 player in 2022 will be hectic, yet the Wolverines should be right in the mix.

Another name to watch in 2022, along the defensive line, is four-star defensive tackle Dominick James of IMG Academy, who just got an offer from Michigan this week. James is 6-foot-2, 270 pounds and ranked 169th overall by 247 sports in 2022. He will also be part of the same program as Michigan commits J.J. McCarthy and Greg Crippen, who are each part of the 2021 class.

And, in other positive news, James told The Michigan Insider ($), he already wants to visit this fall. Another name to monitor in 2022 at defensive tackle is Hunter Deyo, a prospect from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Deyo told 247 sports ($) he’s been in contact with the Michigan staff, but he doesn’t have an offer just yet. Deyo is a 6-foot-3, about 240 pounds and right now, he has one crystal ball projection to Iowa.

He’s ranked 10th among defensive tackles in 2022, but has an offer list that includes just Iowa, Iowa State and Kansas State, so Michigan could offer and possibly make an impact on his recruitment.
