Michigan Wolverine 2016 Recruiting: Brandon Peters Offered by Harbaugh

Brandon Peters, a 2016 prospect from Avon, Indiana and plays for Avon high school and has high interest in Michigan right now and considers them the favorite at this point in time.

Brandon has been offered by the current Michigan offensive quarterback/wide receiver coaching Jedd Fisch. The Michigan offer has become Brandon’s fifth scholarship offer so far for his 2016 recruiting class.

Peters, seems to be favoring Michigan right now, but we might want to wait to see who else offers along with if he visits this spring like he says he is planning on doing. Also not sure if his recruitment will factor in with K.J. Costello’s or not? Will be interesting to see if both of those quarterbacks do indeed visit Michigan this spring.

We would assume right now that K.J. Costello might be the first choice of the coaching staff, but as we mentioned an a early article at this point in time it seems he favors two California schools, but still has Michigan high on the list and wants to visit there this spring.

Talking with Rivals, Brandon Peters said: I’m totally pumped,”. “It would be an awesome experience to play under a coach like Jim Harbaugh. It’s awesome. I definitely would put Michigan at the top now, to be honest with you.”

With Michigan at the top of his list right now a trip to Ann Arbor is a must for the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in that nation. The coaches explained the current quarterback situation to him and expressed how badly they want him to come and visit.

Peters is the No. 198 prospect in the country and No. 3 player in Indiana. “They just talked about how many quarterbacks they had there right now and how many could be there,” Peters explained. “I’m going to try to get up there for some spring practices and see the campus and talk to the coaches a little bit. I’ve never been to Michigan so I’m looking forward to that trip.

“I think they said they wanted me to come up on a Saturday sometime during spring practices but I’m not completely sure. I know they mentioned a Saturday but I’m not sure the exact date yet.”

CoachBT’s Comments:
Lot to like about Peters. Ideal height for the quarterback position and the frame to add weight. Plus arm with enough athletic ability to keep defenses honest. Hard nosed competitor and leader. Solid mechanics and footwork. Accuracy will need to improve.

  • The 2016 recruiting class will be a lot bigger than the previous couple years of recruiting at Michigan which will be a good thing for Jim Harbaugh and staff to start bringing in their own players that they want to build around this Michigan program.

As of right now we have a total of 18 scholarships that will likely be handed out to the 2016 recruiting class, but we imagen this number will gradually go up with players transferring or deciding to leave Michigan.

So far, the 2016 recruiting class has Erik Swenson (OL) and Dele Harding (LB) in the class.
