Michigan Wolverine Football: Brandon and Hoke Deadlines

We have been hearing about deadlines and when both Coach Hoke and Brandon would be gone now for 4-5 weeks now and these people bringing it up keep saying this week … well sooner or later they might just get it right.

To me, at this point it doesn’t matter … everybody is always in a hurry and then sit around on their hands and do nothing and wonder when everything will happen. I would rather get it right than hurry and get somebody in place. Remember this recruiting is very important, but with the right hire and a “big-time” coach your likely going to get a big bounce come recruiting and could see big-time recruits flock back to Michigan especially old de-committs or past targets. Of course the early enrolled guys that was on the Michigan radar in the past will likely be gone, but that cannot be helped.

If they do in fact change the AD at Michigan (which is likely and possible soon such as before the football season is over) and they go after two candidates that are currently in the NFL it doesn’t really matter when the AD is fired/hired. First their football season will continue and both of them will likely not tell the media or others they are interested in the job. until their season is over which likely won’t be till at least December if not longer if they make the playoffs. Last regular season game for both if these brothers is Dec. 28th, but they both likely could make the playoffs and extend their schedule especially the one on the east coast several weeks.

Just not sure some of those guys will want to leave their programs before the bowl game especially since some of the candidates have likely built up that program on their own and likely want to reap some of the benefits of taking that program to new heights that their program hasn’t seen in a very long time.

To me, getting the right guy no matter how long it takes … matters more than just hurrying up the process at either the AD position if in fact they do change it or the head coach. Also a lot can be done behind the scenes especially if they go with certain guys that have a connection to Michigan because they have a lot of friends with Michigan ties and could “feel out” the process even before anything is done. Big donors and their friends are good at this type of thing where they can reach out to certain guys and keep a low profile doing it while some fans look at flight tracker and trying to get a read on what is happening. I am sure the new AD and people around the program all know about flight tracker on certain planes and will likely use one of the donors planes or even borrow a plane to do a proper search without many knowing about it. When the time comes than you will most likely be able to see the “M” flight tracker going and picking up a certain coach and his family at some point.

The funny thing in all of this is that a lot of people are talking about they hate the Michigan mantra and wish they would get away from it, BUT the first three guys that everybody is talking about including those people that hate it are all bringing up for the possible AD position all has some type of past with Michigan and in many cases those AD’s haven’t really done that well with the football program which a lot of people are complaining about with Brandon. I realize a lot of other things people are complaining about Brandon, but most have it set on him being gone because of the struggles with the football program.
