Michigan Football: 2014 NFL Draft –Michael Schofield picked 95th by Broncos
Michaeld Schofield was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round, 95th pick overall.
A very good place to go and probably a little higher than most experts thought, but Michael had a very good senior bowl where he impressed many scouts and NFL teams with his versatility that he showed them during the week along with his time at Michigan where he played right tackle, left tackle, and also left guard.NFL Network’s Charles Davis: “I thought Schoefield was terrific at the Senior Bowl. They gave him a lot of reps, both inside and outside. At the right tackle position, he stoned a lot of people in the 1-on-1 drills.”
“The right tackle that nobody talked about,” ESPN’s Mel Kiper said. “The interior of that line was trouble, but (No.) 75 did his job week after week. Experienced, fundamentally and technically sound. Good feet, good balance in pass protection.”
“Those two book ends (Lewan and Schofield) did the job. The issue of Michigan was that interior. This kid was the model of consistency all year.”
Added Michael Schofield in 3rd Rd from Michigan. A versatile tackle who can also play guard. Tremendous upside and brings competition to OL.
