Michigan Football: Offensive Line Coach — Part II

Who should be blamed for the offensive line play?

How about the entire offense, players and coaches. In my opinion, no position group on the offense stood out. It is the ultimate team game. I blame part of it on the fact that team has been working on the new scheme for only six weeks.

If the offensive line had shown the same assignment issues they showed last season talk of replacing the position coach would be called for in my opinion. That there were so few blown assignments, and yes I took the film to the office and broke it down frame by frame, that (IMO) is a big improvement.

I am giving Coach Funk the benefit of the doubt at this point. For two reasons.

#1) The players/linemen think he can get the job done. They are firmly behind Coach Funk. 99% of the time I will defer to them.

#2) Saw just enough improvement in 15 practices to think this might work.
