The 2014 Mott Spring Game presented by PNC Bank in partnership with University of Michigan Athletics will be held at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. The men’s lacrosse team will host Fairfield in the “Battle at the Big House” immediately after the spring game, with action tentatively slated to start at 5 p.m.

Both events are free to the public, and Michigan Athletics and U-M C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital have teamed up once again to raise funds for the hospital.

The gates to the Big House will open at 11 a.m., as events will surround the football team’s final spring practice. The sixth annual alumni flag football game is scheduled to begin at noon, while Team 135 is set to take the field at approximately 1:30 p.m. The Big Ten Network will televise the annual spring game/practice starting at 2 p.m. In addition, the football scrimmage will be broadcast WWJ-AM 950. Parking: The lots around Michigan Stadium owned and operated by the University of Michigan will be free and open to the public; however, availability in these lots is extremely limited. Pioneer High School will be charging $20 for cars and $80 for RVs on Saturday. Additional parking will be available at Briarwood Mall on the south side of Sears, and shuttles will be running from this area beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Gates, Restrooms and Concessions: The Michigan Stadium gates will open at 11 a.m., one hour prior to the alumni game. All available restrooms on the lower concourse and main concourse will be open, and concessions will be available at several locations throughout the stadium.

Victors Classic: Former U-M football players will be split into the maize and blue teams and will match wits in the sixth annual alumni flag football game starting at noon. More than 100 former football players from five decades are scheduled to participate.

Kick for Cash: The athletic department will randomly select one fan to attempt field goals with the chance to win a PNC gift card up to $300. The fan will have the opportunity to kick from three different spots — the goal line, 10- or 20-yard lines — with varying prizes for each of the three distances.

Big Ten Network Broadcast: Matt Shepard (play-by-play), former Wolverine defensive back Marcus Ray (analyst) and Lisa Byington (field reporter) will broadcast Michigan’s spring scrimmage, which will air live at 2 p.m. on Big Ten Network. The network will feature in-game and post-scrimmage interviews with head coach Brady Hoke, assistant coaches and players.

Radio Broadcasts: The Michigan Radio Network will broadcast for two hours during the spring football scrimmage. Jim Brandstatter and Doug Karsch will call the action from 2 to 4 p.m. The broadcast can be heard on WWJ-AM 950. For a full list of affiliates carrying the spring game, please visit MGoBlue.com.

Golf Course Sidewalk Sale: The U-M Golf Course will have its annual sidewalk sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday in the clubhouse. The new 2014 merchandise has arrived and last season’s selection is up to 40 percent off. All shoppers will be entered into a drawing for a FREE twosome of golf.
