Michigan Basketball: Nebraska at Michigan — Preview
Whose There? — Michigan Returns Home
It was a wasted trip to Bloomington, the perimeter defense collapsed, the rebounding was again shaky when things got rough, and the offense finally broke down. Indiana is a good defensive team, but not good enough to hold Michigan under 60 points. Indiana also lost to Nebraska, blowing a 16 point lead.Michigan simply could not guard the perimeter players of Indiana, both super athletes. Michigan threw up enough bad shots and missed enough fouls shots to lose. This game was self-inflicted.
Michigan reverted back to some old habits with bad foul shooting to give Indiana the lead coming down the stretch. Morgan was 1-5 which was actually worse taking into consideration that no second shot was available late in the game.
There will be no time to rest. Nebraska comes into the game hot, being carried by guard Petteway who is lighting it up from deep. Michigan cannot afford to let this guy get hot by giving room to shoot. Nebraska plays hard and does nothing fancy, just plays hard and relies on a hot shooter.
Then, the road continues to toughen. Michigan must go to OSU and that game will be a carbon copy of the Indiana gig.
