The University of Michigan football team in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference announced today (Thursday, July 11) the conference schedule for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Beginning in 2016, each school will play nine conference games each — games against six teams from its own division and three teams from the other division — as part of a new nine-game conference schedule.

The Maize and Blue then will travel to Rutgers on Oct. 8 before back-to-back home games with Penn State (Oct. 15) and Illinois (Oct. 22) at Michigan Stadium.
