Michigan Basketball: 2013 NBA Draft — Tim Hardaway Jr. Selected 24th by Knicks

Tim Hardaway Jr. dream of playing in the NBA has come true when the New York Knicks selected him in the first round, the 24th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

“The way we looked at it we were getting the best player available,” Knicks GM Glen Grunwald said last night. “Secondly, we wanted someone who could contribute next year and the third criteria was filing a need on our team. “You could say we have needs across the board but it’s also true we only have two players under contract next year at the guard position. But the primary reason we drafted him is because he was the best player available.”
