Here is a article Joshua did on Jan. 22, 2012.

If any fans recognize the name of former Wolverine Tony Gant, then this interview will create some nostalgia with this legacy commit.

’12 S commit Allen Gant, the son of Tony Gant, took some time to sit down and answer a few questions for us.

GBMWolverine: With your father being a former Wolverine, how easy was it to make the decision to go Blue? What kind of advice did your father give you during this recruiting process?

Allen Gant: It made it a little bit easier that my father went to Michigan. But I didn’t base my decision on him. I just felt like Michigan is where I wanted to be. Throughout the recruiting process he just told me what ever college makes me happy then that’s where I should go. He did not care where I went.

GBMWolverine: What are some goals you have set for yourself for your first year?

Allen Gant: One goal I have is to always do the best I can no matter what it is. Whether its in the weight room on the field or in the classroom. I am also willing to do anything I can to bring a big ten and national championship back to Michigan.

GBMWolverine: Talk about the coaching staff, who recruited you and talk about the relationship between yourself and the defensive coaches?

Allen Gant: Coach Borges recruited me. I have a great relationship with the defensive staff. They are a great group of men and I’m so excited to be playing for them.

GBMWolverine: Being from Ohio yourself, how important would a victory against Ohio be in your first year on the team?

Allen Gant: It would be a great feeling to get a win against Ohio coming from Ohio just because it’s a big rivalry and it’s probably the best rivalry in all of sports.

GBMWolverine: Let’s get to know the real Allen Gant, the man underneath the pads. What do you like to do in your spare time? Any favorite video games to play, movies to watch, etc?

Allen Gant: In my spare time I just like to hang with friends and play video games.

GBMWolverine: What is one talent that you have that only your closest friends would know about?

Allen Gant: One talent I have is I can play the drums and piano.

GBMWolverine: Finally, do you have any nicknames that may have stuck with you throughout your years of schooling? This may be an exclusive, so we could give you an official nickname throughout your time at Michigan!

Allen Gant: I’ve had a few nicknames like Big Al And AG.
