Opening Statement:
It was a whirlwind day on Saturday, February 18th for Michigan football recruiting. Six reported commitments occurred. Michigan has made it clear that the search for physical big men will continue into the year 2012 (and beyond).
The first recruit/commit to be discussed is Kyle Bosch of Illinois. He is a name that has been familiar to Michigan football followers for only a short time, as attention has recently shifted to the 2013 class.
Overview:
Kyle is an outstanding prospect at either offensive tackle or guard.
Here is a player that definitely passes the sight test.
It is not out of line to state that he is one of the top offensive lineman prospects in the Midwest.
In addition, he is an excellent student with a reported 3.2 GPA.
Strengths:

Bosch is a Wolverine
The reason is Michigan is recruiting players of this nature.
At times Kyle can completely overwhelm defenders. Kyle moves his feet well and gets to the 2nd level.
He shows solid technique and great strength to go with his physical nature. He plays until the whistle and looks for a second man to block.
Needs work:
Kyle loses his balance at times, and needs to be under control at all times.
Also, Kyle has to learn to toll his hips.
Final Thoughts:
Michigan will recruit at least three and probably four big offensive linemen this year. Bosch was a very nice start. He may seem similar to players Michigan recruited this past year. Like the crop of 2012, Kyle Bosch is versatile, big, a good athlete, a good student, and possesses good potential.
We welcome Kyle Bosch to Michigan and hope he has a successful career on and off the football field as a student-athlete at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
Red-shirt or play his Freshman Year?
GBMWolverine believes he will likely red-shirt his first year. The cupboard is gaining strength.
Kyle Bosch reminds the GBMWolverine Staff of — Former Michigan Football Player — Steve Hutchinson — who played Offensive Line.
