Overview:

Mario is a talented high school defensive tackle that could play defensive end or outside linebacker at the next level.

GBMWolverine envisions Mario growing into a rush defensive end.

He plays for one of the top programs in the State of Michigan under John Herrington.

Last year Mario recorded 127 tackles including 12 sacks as a junior.

He is a good student with a 3.2 CORE GPA and reports a qualifying 23 ACT score.

Strengths:

Ojemudia is a Wolverine

Mario plays with great effort and intensity and is always moving and hustling.

Mario has very good quickness and his feet are always moving.

He shows good lateral movement with good burst and closing speed.

What makes him special is a dynamite first step and an explosive get off.

Needs work:

Mario will definitely need to be a regular in the weight room, adding both size and strength.

Mario’s overall technique also will need to improve, things like proper leverage, using his hands, shedding blocks, and not over pursuing.

Final Thoughts:

Mario is definitely a work in progress, but he has the skills to be a very good edge rusher.

We welcome Mario Ojemudia to Michigan and hope he has a successful career on and off the football field as a student-athlete at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!

Red-shirt or play his Freshman Year?

GBMWolverine believes he will likely red-shirt his first year.

Mario Ojemudia reminds the GBMWolverine Staff of — a little of (for you semi-old-timers) — Former Michigan Football Player — Mark Messner — who played Defensive Line.
