GBMWolverine: Mailbag Question — Michigan Football — Molk or Khoury?
It seems as if David Molk has been held out of practice quite a bit this spring. Is Rocko Khoury looking good in Molk’s absence?
The recent changes in coaching bring up other questions.
Who fits this new offense better?
Does Khoury, being a bigger lineman, better fit this more powerful running game?
Do the other offensive linemen matter in this decision?
Do you feel confident enough in Khoury if Molk cannot go this year or have an injury?
Do you think most of the problems last year were because Molk was out, or were the difficulties because we were facing better teams?
We have liked Rocko Khoury for a couple of years now.
He in our opinion is a very good interior lineman.
Khoury with his size does help in some situations.
Molk’s experience and toughness does matter in relation to others.
We think Khoury would do a very good job in Molk’s absence and even think he would do an excellent job at offensive guard, if needed, for a back up if another player goes down. Also believe the coaches like both players if needed to be counted on at that position.
Remember that Molk’s injury was a huge loss two years ago. Even with his lack of size, David Molk has assets that are important. We believe Molk will be the starter and a good possibility of being one of the captains this football season.
